Who operates Sprout

Hemistudio operates Sprout: Identify & Grow and is responsible for the account and garden information described in this notice. Privacy contact: Hemistudio@outlook.com.

Information we use

Sprout uses your email address, display name and account identifier to manage your account. We store the plants, nicknames, photos, care schedules, care history and health-check results you choose to save. Your device time zone helps schedule care at the right local time. Passwords are sent securely to Supabase for authentication; they are not stored in your plant records.

If you choose Sign in with Apple, we use your Apple account identifier and the name and email address you choose to share, including an Apple private relay address. Supabase verifies the Apple identity token to create or sign in to your Sprout account. We never receive your Apple password. Apple may provide your name only the first time you authorize Sprout.

If you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your account identifier, name and email address with Supabase to create or sign in to your Sprout account. We request only basic profile and email access, not Gmail messages, contacts or Google Drive files. Sprout never receives your Google password. Before deleting a Google-linked account, we ask you to verify with the same Google account again. You can remove Sprout access in your Google Account settings.

Photos and permissions

Camera access is used only when you take a plant photo. The photo picker lets you choose specific images. A photo stays on your device until you choose to identify it, run a health check or save it to your garden. Photos can contain personal details: check the image before sharing and avoid faces, addresses or other information you do not want to send.

AI data sharing

With your permission, selected plant photos, plant names, health symptoms and care answers are sent through our backend to OpenAI for plant identification and health guidance. Plant names may also be sent directly to Wikimedia Commons to find reference photos with a verifiable CC0 license. We do not send your account email or password to these AI or image-search services. Providers can process data outside your country. They may process request data and service logs under their own policies. AI results can be inaccurate.

Storage and subscriptions

Supabase provides account authentication, databases and private photo storage. RevenueCat receives your app account identifier and purchase or subscription information to manage Pro access. Apple processes App Store payments. We also keep account-linked AI request times, operation types, outcomes, token counts and estimated service costs to apply subscription allowances, prevent excessive requests and monitor operating costs. These usage records do not contain photos, prompts or care answers and are removed when your account is deleted. Sprout does not receive your full payment-card details. Reference images load from their original hosts, which can receive ordinary connection information such as an IP address.

Choices and control

You can refuse AI sharing and continue to view saved plants, care history and calendar tasks. You can withdraw permission in Privacy & Data. Withdrawal prevents new AI requests from this device; it does not recall data already sent or stop a request that is already in progress. Permission is recorded separately for each account on this device. You can change camera access in your device Settings.

Retention and account deletion

Saved account and garden information remains while your account is active. Delete Account in Profile removes your account and associated garden records, photos and local care cache after the deletion succeeds. Our deletion service also removes the RevenueCat customer record. For an Apple-linked account, you verify with Apple again before deletion; our server uses that authorization to revoke Sprout’s access to your Apple account. Backup copies, service security logs and payment records may remain under the relevant provider's retention requirements until they expire; any restoration must preserve completed deletion requests. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription or issue a refund. Cancel recurring billing in Apple Subscriptions separately.

Contact and updates

For questions about privacy, access to your data or data correction, contact Hemistudio@outlook.com. We will update this notice when our data practices change and ask again before using a changed AI-sharing consent. Last updated: 29 October 2026.
